It's the capsaicin in jalapeno peppers that make them so great at fighting a wealth of things. Studies have found that it can prevent the growth of certain types of cancer. They have also been found to be effective in fighting pain relief for migraine and sinus headaches, as well as having a potent anti-inflammatory agent which can help ease arthritis. And if all that wasn't enough they can also help you lose weight as they speed your metabolism. So stock up!

ER HELLOOOOO!!! Where is Chocolate?? I would say that it is a 'super food' and has medicinal qualities.  When I'm ready to shout the house down, or if I'm upset or not feeling very well, a bar of Galaxy goes down a treat and all is well.Smile

I love this type of article, fresh fruit and veg daily will keep you healthy, as for anti cancer remedies, nothing can beat the 1000+ year old herbal remedy known as cannabis sativa (but don't smoke it,this defeats the purpose,it has to be ingested via cannabis oil). This is one of the many reasons it is illegal. Its not good business for the pharma industry to have healthy people.Free your mind from the indoctrinated B/S. Try watching The Rick Simpson Story,it's a very good starting point. Canadian doctors have also varified this recently. Don't believe something to be true unless you can prove it to be true.

You can buy guava in Shepherd's Bush market and you can buy guava jam/jelly in Tesco, Morrisons and shops that sells West Indian foods.

Guavas is best source of getting rid of constipation, apatite, and those who are suffering from Diabetics as this fruit is low in sugar. Take this only from my personal experimenter and experience.  This fruits is very renowned in South Asia subcontinents, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh.

Very cute article.I love it ,life is boring. My boyfriend think the same with me.he is almost 10years older than me .i met him via agelesscupid dot com a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. Maybe you wanna check it out !Yet another list of foods that will no doubt be difficult to obtain and very expensive. I'll stick to my old fashioned but healthy selection of foods in season, grown in the UK and eat all things in moderation - but interesting all the same.

Bread and dripping sound good: both unprocessed and you can only eat as much as you need (so you don't overendulge) - everything in balance is OK.

We get BogoF's and two for one offers for food we wouldn't have plan to eat. Tonnes of Guava will not help anyone who is careless with food and drink. All food is made of chemicalsthat we either need or not, so it should treated as chemical we either need or not. IMHO

Why is it that every few months there are new super foods.  If we all could just afford to eat well, we would not need them.  People live to there late 80's or older and they were brought up on bread and dripping and my father still does.

I'm intrigued, during the 39/45 war we received food parcels from Australia which included tins of Guava jam and tubes of condensed coffee. I haven't seen either since.

It is no surprise to me.  The Arawak indians of the Caribbean use this fruit in a variety of ways.  Apart from the proven health benefits, I for one find the smell totally irresistible..
