In my opinion long skirts with a nice decent top or maxi dresses are fine to wear in the office, they are cool and cover you up without leaving you hot and sweaty.

This is a reason why women are unequal. By the time you have stopped fretting about what to wear men have already done half a days work in a standard shirt and tie. If you expose yourself i.e. boobs, legs, backside, in the name of fashion at work that is sexual harrasment.

Common sense should rule. If the company has strict guidelines for office wear, or if you want to climb the business ladder, then dress accordingly. You can be cool in something loose fitting yet fashionable.
This is where the situation becomes unequal. Men have few choices - office wear consists of a short sleeve shirt (which are becoming increasingly rare to find), with tie, or a long sleeved. No question. I have worked in places where the male can wear a polo shirt on VERY hot days, but there was no other concession possible.
Women have far greater choice in this area.
