Hollywood's leading ladies choose a riot of colours to make their splash on the carpet at the 84th Academy Awards ceremony tonight. Michelle Williams, Natalie Portman and Emma Stone all ruled the red carpet with fiery shades of red and orange, while Gwyneth Paltrow Rooney Mara, Milla Jovovich, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Ripa were amongst those who played it down with understated ivory or cream dresses. Silhouettes were kept simple, with plenty of bare shoulders on display and minimal jewellery.
But who was crowned queen of the red carpet? Here's a round-up of the best Oscars fashion for 2012.
Michelle Williams wowed in this coral (or was it pomegranate?) strapless Louis Vuitton tiered dress, while Natalie Portman's opted for vintage glamour with a polka-dot-red vintage Haute Couture Christian Dior gown from 1954.
Winner: We can't get enough of Michelle Williams' effortless glamour.

I wish someone to let Kelly Osbourne in on the secret that we all know, that her hair looks like somebody decided on one colour then half way through said, No, actually I want it this colour, a total wash out. Come on Kelly look your age, you look like my Grandma who went and got a blue rinse no wait a pink one no wait a , oh well.

I don't care what anyone says, Kelly Osbourne looks AMAZING, she is a unique person who knows her own style and doesn't follow the crowd. I think she would be criticized more if she looked mainstream - cause this she definately is not!
For red carpet affairs usually Angelina Jolie is normally my fav all the way - sleek and classic she always wears it so well, but I am left totally unimpressed by this oscar dress, It looks more like a Fraulein Maria special (i.e. whipped up from an old pair of heavy velvet curtains)!!!!!
But then a lot of the dresses look like they've been stolen from the old Dynasty/Dallas wardrobe!!!!
