Dita Von Teese dumps lingerie models for being too thin
Dita Von Teese has long celebrated womanly curves. In fact, the burlesque star is such a fan of curvaceous female figures that she got rid of some models she considered too thin from her upcoming lingerie catwalk show.
The burlesque star has just launched her new Von Follie range, and will appear on the runway this weekend at the Melbourne Fashion Festival, but she only wanted women with shapely figures to join her.
Prior to appearing at the Von Follies by Dita Von Teese for Target photo call, she admitted that she had fired several models because they were too skinny.
She told Melbourne's Herald Sun newspaper: "We gave a lot of models the axe for being too skinny - we probably turned away a dozen."
"It's important to me [that] we show curvaceous women and fuller-figured girls... Lingerie looks terrific on girls with shape."
