Some of Britain's best fashion designers and models are gearing up to battle it out after the 2012 British Fashion Awards nominations were announced last night.
The awards will be held on the 27th November to help round-off a wonderful year of British celebrations.
Burberry and Mulberry take their positions alongside Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney on the shortlist for the Designer Brand category. The winner will be the leading British-based designer brand that has excelled and made an impact on the international stage over the past year.
Stella McCartney, who received three nominations in total, is also up for the coveted Designer of the year award alongside Mary Katrantzou and Christopher Kane who won the New Establishment award last year.
McCartney's third nomination is for the Red Carpet award. The designer may have won this category last year, but this time round she has stiff competition from Victoria Beckham, Roskanda Ilincic and Alessandra Rich.
Harold Tillman CBE, Chairman of the British Fashion Council, commented '2012 has been a momentous year and seen a nationwide celebration of British talent. The British Fashion Awards recognise and celebrate the exceptional individuals and brands who've defined our fashion industry over the past year and we're incredibly proud to announce these nominees who represent a cross section of British fashion talent.'
