It's Jeans for Genes Day today (Friday October 5), a day on which everyone is encouraged to wear denim to work and make a donation to the charity that raises money for children born with genetic disorders.

It's an important cause and you can get your dosh out at jeansforgenesday.org. But are you wearing the right denim?

An enduring part of Western fashion since the cowboys hitched up their first pair of Levi Strauss jeans in 1873, denim has been flared, tight, cropped, baggy, dark, light, stone-washed, acid-bleached, ripped, turned-up and pretty much every other conceivable tweak known to fashion.

With Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Week done and dusted, it's time to have a look at the different denim options designers have presented us with. Guiding you through the most accessible looks is Nina Sobers, a celebrity and editorial fashion stylist (ninasobers.com; Twitter @ninasobers). Also we take a look at the top 50 best autumn dresses out there right now.
