Kate's jubilee fashion: which do you prefer?

The Duchess of Cambridge pulled off two key, very different looks during the jubilee celebrations this weekend (sorry, but yesterday's low-key Whistles number doesn't quite count). Both were by Alexander McQueen, designed by Sarah Burton who also created Kate's wedding dress, but the first was a controversial, pillar-box red dress that triggered a Marmite reaction.
Some said she was stunning, but others noted that the dress had been worn in a slightly different incarnation by Kim Kardashian and Tulisa Contostavlos last summer. This time, a boat neckline and longer sleeves and hemline had been added, presumably to make it more respectable for a royal celebration.
But, we weren't fans of the look - generally, a strong shade like that needs to be broken up with either a different colour or texture to avoid nicknames such as 'tomato girl'.
However, today's outfit was a winner. As we saw from her wedding last year, lace is a fabric that suits Kate perfectly, and this dress which had a dusty rose lace overlaid on white fabric was elegant AND piqued our fashion interest.
Sure she teamed it up with those interminable nude heels that seem to be as part of her public identity now as the corgis are to the Queen, but the hat by Jane Taylor and tiny birdcage veil completed the look.
Which look do you prefer?
