We are women, hear us roar!
True feminism, in our opinion, isn't one where we say we're better than the boys, but where we say we're every bit as good as them and deserve the same treatment. But the ugly truth is that in sport, things are far from equal, and women's sports just doesn't get the same level of money and accolade it deserves.
So for anything to change, something momentous, historic and truly earth-shattering would have to take place and the London 2012 Games has been the place where female athletes from all over the globe have proven their worth time and time again.
It started with Lizzie Armitstead winning the first medal for the country, and gathered pace as Heather Stanning and Helen Glover won the first gold for Team GB. The women, it appeared were the stars the Olympics - breaking world records, overcoming incredible personal obstacles and putting their countries in the spotlight, rather than the men. And through it all, they have done so with utter humility and grace.
Sportswomen of the world, we salute you!
